Por la sombrita cine is an independent film production company that develops cinema and TV projects of various genres, from dramatic comedy to science fiction, always looking for new funding models and new co-production partners.

Gasolina (Gas)
The first short film we produced: “Gas”, directed by Pedro Garciamejía, was awarded a Jury Special Mention at 2009 FICCI, the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival.

Segundo cortometraje
Niño de metal
Our second short film “Metal child”, by Pedro Garciamejía, was selected in more than 40 film festivals, such as Clermont-Ferrand, Biarritz, Sao Paulo and Morelia. won Le Prix «Courtoujours» du CROUS, Best Short Film Award (Cinelatino Rencontres de Toulouse, 2015). It was also awarded Best Photography and Best Production Design at the Bogotá Short Film Festival (Bogoshorts, 2015) and Jury Award at SESIFF (Korea, 2015).

In 2016 we presented our third short film “BIG”, directed by Pedro Garciamejía and produced by Dolores Lagos, in more than 20 film festivals such as Miami, Morelia and ShortsShorts México.

Aluna, The road to Burning Man
In 2017 we filmed the documentary medium-film “Aluna, The road to Burning Man” as part of the Honor Grant that the project was awarded. The documentary was directed by Pedro Garciamejía, produced by Dolores Lagos and filmed in the Nevada desert, USA.

MADRE SOLA
We are currently about to release “MADRE SOLA”, a full-length film shot in Barcelona, directed by Pedro Garciamejía and produced by Dolores Lagos, its WIP was selected in Ventana Sur, 2022 and in MAFIZ of the 2023 Málaga Festival, in the Spanish Screenings category.
